A new post to our Bhutan Heartland Site   (Connected to the Book Out Soon)

follow the link to a new section on my Bhutan Heartland site on this topic

I went to the launch of this book a couple of nights ago. These are remarkable images and for those of you who have thought ‘why the fuss’ about WA wildflowers this really shows why. A real step forward in wildflower photography.

Wildflower Country: Discovering Biodiversity in Australia’s Southwest
by Stan & Kaisa Breeden

There are few other places on earth where flowers are so all pervasive, so varied and as sumptuous as in southwest Western Australia. It is one of 39 special places in the world, named International Biodiversity Hotspots, where there have been explosions of evolution—veritable cauldrons of species making.

Leonard Cohen - A Thousand Kisses Deep

Confined to sex, we pressed against
The limits of the sea:
I saw there were no oceans left
For scavengers like me.
I made it to the forward deck.
I blessed our remnant fleet –
And then consented to be wrecked,
A Thousand Kisses Deep.

When I have been asked to teach photography”, he muses in Why People Photograph, “I have found myself puzzling over three questions: ‘Can photography be taught? Ought it to be taught? If so, am I the one to teach it? - Robert Adams’

A new post to our Bhutan Heartland Site   (Connected to the Book Out Soon)

This post is on  Culturally Sensitive Photography

Bhutanese people are really friendly and open. They enjoy sharing their culture and are generally happy to be photographed. In the excitement of seeing such rich beauty it can sometimes be difficult to keep from crossing the line into being intrusive or even rude.

Here are a few guidelines for not wearing out the welcome. (follow link to read this post)
