jonathan berger in 100 Eyes

this is a sample image from a series by jonathan berger on the 100 Eyes site/blog called Chag-Po Nang-Ha which means ‘take care of yourself’ in Tibetan. Here is the link. Have a look. I am trying to work out why I find the images so engaging. They are certainly elegant and calm and balanced and not over-saturated. Maybe they communicate a warm but not sentimental act of seeing that links for me to the ‘democracy of vulnerability’ (see post below). We don’t hear the voice of doctors, nurses or patients and yet the images quietly engage us. There is an everyday poetry to my eye. If you visit the link, try thinking about why the microscope/eye image communicates love.  I will add a link to my inspirations list as well.
