an image from paolo woods site in the series called iran felix. Finally images that show real people in Iran with respect and breadth. The images are of a high standard and are far from the ‘reportage’ equals grainy, poorly exposed ‘snaps’ which there seems too much of and which end up turning their subjects into cyphers or stereotypes.  The accompanying text really adds to our understanding of the person and their context. The presentation also illustrates a problem with portraits and text in that it is easy to just look at the pictures and skip over the text despite it being well written and informative. Paolo Woods site also has the wonderful series chinafrica that I features a while ago.
